Most operators think a pilot operated control valve is the only option for a pressure reducing valve, or pressure sustaining valve, but the VRX plunger valve can do it all! Anything you can do with a hydraulic operated control valve you can do with a plunger valve!

So, when you need to reduce flow or pressure, you close the valve, when you need to add flow or increase pressure, you open it, this can be accomplished with either a manual handwheel or an electric actuator.
Simply use an Allen wrench to remove the retaining ring and replace the seal. A series bronze welded rails ensure smooth operation and create correct alignment as the valve modulates.
In normal operations, a plunger valve will require very little maintenance. The sealing O-ring is out of the flow path. When maintenance is performed, the downstream pipe needs to be removed so a dismantling joint is suggested. Simply use an Allen wrench to remove the retaining ring and replace the seal.
Some types of control valves are NOT leak free; they don’t even claim to be. Typically, this is an energy dissipation valve or pressure reducing valve. The VRX Plunger valve has a bubble tight shut off!

plunger valve only moves or makes adjustments when your control system tells it to! If for some odd reason the VRX Plunger Control Valve has a failure, it does not fail open like a hydraulic control valve tends to do. So you do not run the risk of high pressures, or overfilling the tank.
